Theme Overview
The sets used larger, more specialized pieces that were easier for young children to build with, serving as a simpler "bridge" between the large DUPLO bricks and the standard, more complex LEGO System sets. This design choice, however, meant the pieces were less compatible with traditional LEGO bricks, which alienated older fans.
The theme was characterized by its bright colors and a heavy focus on action and rescue scenarios involving police, fire, space, and general adventure elements. A unique feature was that many sets came with a DVD and an "interactive builder" to help children assemble their models.

The current spiritual successor to these transitional themes is the LEGO 4+ sub-line found within main themes like LEGO City and LEGO Marvel, which uses standard LEGO bricks with simplified building instructions.
